Google to Reduce Rankings for Slow-Loading Mobile Pages
All websites are not built equal especially in Google’s eyes when they look at the quality of code.
Google encourages us developers to think broadly about how performance affects a user’s experience of their page and to consider a variety of user experience metrics. It still then surprises me to find such slow websites, and I mean painfully slow. I got excited when we moved to Noosa to our new offices with the anticipation of fast NBN as we really struggled with slow internet previously. So when sites load slow now, we look ‘under the hood’ so that we can have the fastest loading websites for our clients.
If your site is slow, don’t be completely discouraged, as with all SEO, it is just one of the many factors that can impact on your results. Google still and always will place a high value on the the intent of the search query, which means if you have a great, relevant content that is frequently viewed, the speed issue won’t directly effect you.
We strive to get as many check boxes ticked when it comes to building our sites and work to optimise as many areas we can to achieve great organic traffic for our clients. Site design is very important, the CMS platform you host on is super important and most importantly, the ongoing marketing initiatives that you action, test and tweak make the biggest impact in your SEO.
Yes, it is a little technical, but hey that’s why you have us on your side, to make this easy, simple and effective.
